Guest wilburpan Posted January 1, 2003 Report Share Posted January 1, 2003 I installed Freetype 2.1.3 on Mandrake Linux 9.0. After doing this, OpenOffice writer developed a bug. All fonts in sizes less than 10 point will not display on the screen. The text is there -- if I resize to 10pt+, the text reappears. Also, text < 10 pt will print correctly, even though it's not visible onscreen. I can find no other non-OpenOffice.org application that I'm running that has a similar problem. After filing a bug with OpenOffice.org, I was informed that this is a Mandrake specific issue in that freetype version 2.0.5 is compiled and linked statically into official OOo builds. Is there a workaround so that I can use freetype 2.1.3 and still use OpenOffice? This is a serious issue for me -- I may move to Redhat, as this does not seem to be an issue for that distro.
