Guest anon
Mplayer or Xine will do the trick for you. (there are arguments which is better but both should work) You should get some files not included in MDK as there propriety software. So go to http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and set up PLF addons and also Contrib After that down load Mplayer (my choice) and make sure you get libdvdcss2 and also libdvdread BTW libdvdread will enable you to play DVD's from any region. Lando
Sorry, but I cannot read DVD data ...then I think I need some basic software before using " Mplayer or Xine "
Guest anon
I don't know what you mean by "i cannot read dvd data" are you saying that, or is that an error message? Mplayer and Xine is the software, other than the libdvd file you don't need anything else. Did you set up the urpmi PLF source and d-load mplayer? Lando
The DVD containing MDK installation data cannot open (the same DVD works fine in windows ! ). The fstab entry is below ... is it OK ? /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto mask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec 0
Guest anon
Sorry, i thought you were trying to watch a dvd film. So you have the MDK distro on a dvd ? Can you boot from the dvd?
Lando
This DVD contains MDK 10 , FreeBSD 5.2.1 and many other data . The distros are in .ISO format that I'll have to burn on many CD ......then it's not a bootable DVD...and it works fine in windows environment....
