flarefox
Ok, I installed and configured lirc. I installed it from the mandrake control center in 10.1 and then went in and set all the configurations up. It should work fine, the problem is, it is not showing an lirc file in /dev/ It is a serial device and it shows up under harddrake, but lirc didn't install its serial module....is there a way to get this to install that part? ~Dee
devries
There are a couple of topics by ArTee about this subject. It's a bug. There are different solutions: Mine is to install lirc from lirc.org. Good luck.
flarefox
I tried installing it from one of their tarballs to make the serial module appear in my /dev/ folder, but it fails with error 2 many many times. The only thing that ever works is using rpms. For some reason, compiling things almost never works for me...
devries
I had the same problem with eralier versions but the latest work fine for me. (not using serial though). An other solution is using a new kernel with lirc build in. If you look for aRTee's posts you there is a link somewhere to a mulimedia kernel with lirc.
