coverup
Every time I start thunderbird email client, it complains that it cannot create lock file in /var/spool/mail/user. As suggested I change the mode of /var/spool/mail/user to 01777, but next time thunderbird starts, the message pops up again. It appears that 01777 mode gets overwritten but some other program (I suspect postfix MDA). How can I tell thunderbird to create lock file in some other dir? Or maybe, can I tell postfix not to change mode of /var/spool/mauil/user? Edit: It appears that mozilla and thunderbird have their own movemail clients, some posts suggest to give movemail permission to write to /vara/spool/mail. Does anybody know, which file/script do I have to change for this to work? Edited October 23, 2004 by coverup
