Guest wayy2muchpsi Posted October 15, 2004 Report Share Posted October 15, 2004 ok i got this set up for my paitions for my hd off the internet, i want only linux on my ibook /dev/hda2 1mb boot_strap (where yaboot resides) /dev/hda3 100mb /boot (where the kernel(s) reside) /dev/hda4 xxxMB swap /dev/hda5 xxGB /root well the question i have is i need the type and /? to where some of this stuff goes such as the yaboot aka Apple_bootstrap, it cant be /boot (but it works there) and I tryed it under (/mnt/macos) and didnt work, and it cant be / so where does it go, so wat is the path i put it under? 2. for the kernel partition what type does it need to be? PPC boot? Ext3, linux native? what and i know how to do swap and the root needs to be EXT 3 correct? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
