Have been trying to edit files as explained in various threads but in almost every case I cannot save the changes. I am attempting to insert a couple of line into /etc/modprobe.conf but cannot save the rresult. I have tttried Vim and Kwrite. What the hell am I doing wrong everyone in the world seems to be able to alter files. Thanks in advance
arthur
well root can edit almost any file. type 'su' in the console, then the password, then start your editor of choice. you can find out about files and permissions in Tips and Tricks and the FAQ section.
