TVTime works but nothing else?

I got an ATI TV Wonder Pro recently and worked for the longest time to get it to work. I finally got it to work fine with tweaking with it in mdk 10.1 and updating my bttv. The thing is, it ONLY works in tvtime. I want it to work in all other apps and especially in mythtv, but it doesn't seem to want to. When I load up mythtv, it brings up a solid green and/or black screen when there should be channels there. There is even the channel selector that shows a green or black screen when I preview the channels. When I go into the konsole and run kdetv to try that one, it tells me that there is an error with my audio source, but the audio works fine in tvtime.....

here's the kdetv error:

kdetv: WARNING: Sourcemanager: No screenwidget set! Cannot scan video plugins!

kdetv: WARNING: OSDManager: No screenwidget set! Cannot scan OSD plugins!

kdetv: WARNING: MiscManager: No screenwidget set! Cannot scan Misc plugins!

Does that help at all in telling why mythtv won't work and kdetv hangs and mutes my sound?
