I have been using windows for 10 years at least. This was my experience: :wall:

Then I discovered linux: :cheesy:

I felt like a king: :afro:

Time to celebrate the end of terror

I downloaded my very own Mandrake 10.1 Community Edition:

I run install, but my hardisk was no where to be found:

Dear linuxbrothers: :help:

My specs:

A64

Msi Neo Platinium

Seagate 200gb sata

Boot the install disk

When you get to the point where it says "Press <enter> to install, Press <F1> for more options" press F1 and type the following:

linux expert

and hit enter. That should load the correct module for that sata drive.

Out of curiosity, and in case this doesn't work: What chipset does you mobo have for the sata controller? Is it a Via chip?

Sorry, this did not solve my problem..

My mobo is based on the nvidia 250gb chipset with a silicon image cotroller

also, which Mandrake are you using? If you're using 10.0 Official, try 10.1 Community. And, in fact, vice versa.

As mentioned I am using 10.1 Community'

Thanks for the tips B) But I'm still not running linux
