uptime always shows 0 users mandrake 10

im running mandrake 10 community and when i do a uname -a it tells me unknown processer and gnu . Also when I do an uptime from console it tells me there are 0 users any fix for this Or tweak I might be able to apply?? B)

The only fix for the uname -a issue is to recompile your kernel and tell it what kind of processor you have. There's another option for cpu speed reporting, but I forget what it's called.

 

For the uptime...I'm not sure. Mine reports correctly

 

[Coruscant//liquidzoo]$ uname -a
Linux Coruscant 2.6.8.1-8mdk #1 Fri Sep 3 17:23:25 CEST 2004 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+ unknown GNU/Linux
[Coruscant//liquidzoo]$ uptime
23:02:41 up 2 days,  8:39,  6 users,  load average: 0.01, 0.01, 0.00
[Coruscant//liquidzoo]$
