Guest fangorn
I am having the same issue as described here: Prev MandrakeUsers post ifup eth0 returns SIOCSIFFLAGS: Device or resource busy I found this page Simple Network Setup and verified that the settings are correct for all the network files. I'm using a static IP address that I know my other computers don't have. I've verified all the network settings as well. When going to the MCC, the PCMCIA card is the only one listed and all the settings are right there as well. Everywhere I've looked for this issue, I keep finding answers like the post above. The fix in that situation was to go into the BIOS and disable plug and play. I've looked in my BIOS and can't find the plug and play option. Does anyone know how to solve this problem if I can't turn off plug and play ( I assume that just means that this BIOS doesn't support it). This is an older laptop that was running Windows 95. O and it's now running Mandrake Linux 9.0. Any thoughts?
Guest fangorn
When I run the command dmesg as root, I get several messages saying: eth0: Could not reserve IRQ 0 I assume I need to change the IRQ, how do I do that?
liquidzoo
I believe you would change that in the bios, but I'm not entirely sure where or how. The documentation that came with your laptop might have some better guides to the bios.
