Guest Drakia
This has been happening since I installed Mandrake 10. During bootup I always go into verbose mode because I like seeing what its doing while booting, and every time is show that "bringing up interface eth0" fails, but when it finishes booting my internet is working fine. Is there any reason it could be failing or a way to make it not fail?
Kjel Oslund
There is a fault/bug in one of the utilities that is used to implement hotplugging (deep down in the init networking scripts). If your not using a laptop and don't need hotplugging, you can get rid of the error message by disabling it for your NIC. See MCC-> Network&Internet->ManageConnections. Uncheck "Network hotplugging" on the options panel.
