Steve Scrimpshire
Sometimes netscape/mozilla screws it up. Try tar -xf /tmp/firefox-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz
jmr0311
Nothing happen Steve when I run the command the way you suggested. I think this file is just trashed. Thanks any way. Javi
Steve Scrimpshire
If you think nothing happened, look for a new directory in your current directory, called firefox-i686-linux-gtk2+xftor similar. If you got no errors, it sounds like it worked.
AussieJohn
I still find the easiest way to un-tar is to right click on the tarball and select -------> Actions -----> Extract Here. This will untar and create a folder of the same name. If it will not untar this way then you can be certain that you have a corrupted tarball. It is easier and visual. It does not appeal to the 100% command liners but what the heck. Cheers. John.
