Guest eviny Posted August 20, 2004 Report Share Posted August 20, 2004 Can anyone please tell me how do i install linux on my Dell Inspiron 2600 notebook ? i managed to install the OS but i cant get the Server X (GUI) to start. I have tried installing XFree86 4.4.0 and everything goes well during the installation and i tried to start server X ... using "startx" command ... It appears that i cant get a good looking GUI because i can only use 1 Bit colour or else Linux tells me that "Unsupported Depths" ... can someone help ??? Puzzled .. !!!
