Guest JeffS
Hello: I have lost the Mandrake CD sources for software while trying to get new sources (which didn't work). How do I get the CD sources back in Software management?
nocturnes
I assume that you mean you lost track of how to use the CDs via software management? If so, and assuming you have the space to do this, I suggest copying the CDs to your HDD and using them from there. eg file://home/jeffs/CD1 and so on
Guest JeffS
In Software Management the default sources are gone how do I get them back?
nocturnes
OK. Where it says URL add the path to the files you want. If you keep them on CD then that will be /mnt/cdrom or similar If you decide to put them on your HDD then you can simply point it to the place you put them /home/jeffs/sources or similar Does that help? nocturnes
It sounds like you may have errors on the CD. If at allpossible transfer the CDs to your HDD.
Guest JeffS
I don't think so. I was able to install software off of them prior. I was attempting to add a new source, the tutorial said to remove the old sources I thought it sounded scary but did it any way. Now I just want to be able to add the 3 cd's back as a source so I can at least add the software that is included with Mandrake 10.0 download!
