Guest grc
Hi, I'm setting up a new webserver so I'm trying out Mandrake 10. I got Apache2, php and mySQL up and running but ... Something periodically resets the permissions on my web root folder from 755 back to 700, which of course blocks access to the site. This is not gonna be cool on a production server. Any ideas what's doing it? The directory I'm using is /home/webroot where webroot is a system user. Thanks
tyme
this is the result of the mandrake security tool. i'm not sure how to change this, but I'd suggest you use the default html dir: /var/www/html
streeter
Yes, it is probably msec - have a look here: http://www.mandrakesecure.net/en/docs/msec.php Chris
Guest grc
thanks for the response. I'm porting an existing system to a new box. I've got too many legacy scripts, etc., that expect the web root to be where it is. So moving it out of /home is not an option in the short term guess I'll have to play with the msec configuaration.
