Hi,

I am a Linux newbie and would really appreciate some help. I am trying to install the Intel driver for my Intel Pro 2100 Wireless Mini PCI card. I am following the instructions in the install file. However, I am struggling to follow the instructions below. How do I change the Kernel configuration?

FYI: I am using Mandrake 10.0 with KDE and a 2.6.7 kernel.

The IPW2100 supports loading of firmware via the Linux firmware hotplug

capability.  In order to use this, you must enable CONFIG_FW_LOADER in your

kernel configuration.  In 2.6.x this option is enabled via:

Device Drivers ->

  Generic Driver Options ->

  Hotplug firmware loading support

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Tobes

Actually, I think FW_LOADER already enabled as a module in the standard config (I just looked at my configs - don't remember changing CONFIG_FW_LOADER), but I guess you will still need a configured kernel for compiling the driver? (I don't use it, so I don't know for sure)
