Guest J_Cubed
I tried getting updates from the Control Center, but the first server I tried resulted in the files not being found. Now whenever I try the update option in the Control Center, it tries to use that same server! I don't get offered the list of servers anymore. How can I get that list back? Guest J_Cubed
Unfortunately, while I have been a Linux/Unix user for quite some time, I am new to administrating Mandrake. How do I update my package lists as you suggested? I saw nothing obvious for doing so in the control center. Thank you very much for the information! devries
In the MCC (mandrake control center) go to software, media management (I don't know if it is called media management for sure, just translating the name from Dutch) and remove the 'update' entry from the list. The go back to 'software' and choose 'update' again. You will get the list with update servers. Or alternatively, from the CLI. Open a console, switch to root and type 'urpmi.removemedia update'. Then add update gain with help from this site http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php. After you have added update run urpmi --auto-select Good luck
