Hi, I am pretty mcuh a newbie to linux, and unfortunately I have already encountered a few problems....

Well, it turns out that my cd rom drive (built into my laptop) is unable to boot from cds so I have had to do a hard disk installation (of Mandrake 10)

So I made a boot disk with the hdd.img file (using rawewrite or whatever).

So on boot with the floppy inside it says that it is looking in /cooker/isolinux....but can't find the file

So I set the root to: "root (hd0,2)" (ie pointing at the hard disk with theimage file)

and in that partition I place both the iso file and a folder called CD1 containg all the extracted contents of the iso

yet it cant find it even after changing the "kernel setting from "/cooker/isolinux." to "/CD1/isolinux..."

So ermm.....what am I doing wrong.....I am guessing I have messed up pretty badly somewhere.....could anywone tell me where?

Thanks
