Compiling ALSA along with Kernel

Hi Everybody,

I have recently successfully installed ML 9.0. I want to recompile the kernel 2.4.19 downloaded from kernel.org. I have given it a try and all seems to be fine except the ALSA and supermount. Currently I am concentrating on ALSA. I went through the Mandrake kernel config file. It includes ALSA in the config file options. I searched whole of google and all the possible alsa and kernel how-tos but did not find any mention of integrating alsa in the kernel config file. All the how-tos say I should compile alsa modules separately and then move them to the modules directory. Can anybody tell me how to do it the mandrake way??

Thanks in advance.
