BanjoTEKE Posted June 25, 2004 Report Share Posted June 25, 2004 Two things I have file sharing working fine... I can see my Mandrake Machine on my Windows Network... Just type \\ok-linux\SHARE_USER and it comes up and I can see the files. Works, but I cannot seem to configure Write access for that share from the WINDOWS Machine. On teh Linux machine I have full writes to teh folder for Owner, Group, & Other... what can I do to get write Access? Secondly, I have my windows shares mounted via the Mandrake control panel and they mounted with no problem... SO, when I goto the /mnt directory it si empty and at the bottom of the window it says "STALLED" what does that mean? Last and dumbest... streeter Posted June 26, 2004 Report Share Posted June 26, 2004 1) Have you got writable=yes in the relevant section of /etc/samba/smb.conf? Then type "samba restart" as root to re-read the file (or wait a minute or so). 2) STALLED implies it is waiting for data - what are you using to browse? Have you installed smb4k?
