leftover menu entry?

I did a full install of mdk10OE on top of a mdk9.2 install except that I kept the /home directory (reformatted everything else).

Now, in my KDE menu I have an "Applications" entry at the top (its icon is a folder if it means anything) and its sole entry is Editors->Kate

All my other apps are under "More Applications" and subfolders

That doesn't seem right to me, Kate also appears in the Editors submenu in under "More Application".

Furthermore, if I go in the control panel and choose the menus icons, I don't see an "Applications" entry so I can't delete it from there.

- Why is this happening? (I'm gusseing it's some leftover KDE config that was in my home directory and didn;t port properly)

- What should it look like (anyone got a picture of a "standard" menu after install)

Edit: I found this:s2.png

I don't have the "frequently used applications on top) but otherwise mine would look like this except that above Office there is a blue folder icon marked "Applications".

- How do I get rid of the "Applications" entry (and optionally rename "More Applications" to "Applications".

I guess I never worked with KDE menus before (always left them at whatever the install did) and I'm not sure I understand how they work. For example he control panel lists the entries in a different order than they appear on the screen.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

FYI, I don't know if this is related but Kate was screwed up, mostly the menu bar in Kate itself had repeated entries, one entry called "No text", etc... I uninstalled then re-instlaled it (urpme kate then urpmi kate I think, or maybe I use the control panel) and now it looks right except for the menu issue above.
