Guest NuTz
I installed MAndrake 10 on a toshiba sattelite 2210 laptop. Install went great, machine runs great except for one lil display problem. I get a band of (interferance) messed up display just above the panel, extending right across the screen and about 3/4 of an inch wide. This band obscures the bottom of windows yet the buttons do still operat correctly. I'm thinking it probably is something to do with the video dispaly driver, I do notice some background flickering when scrolling etc. I have messed around with the configuration settings but haven't found any solutions as yet. Vendor: ?Trident Microsystems Bus: ?PCI Bus identification: ?1023:9525:1179:2 Location on the bus: ?1:0:0 Description: ?Cyber 9525 Module: ?Card:Trident Cyber 9525 (generic) Media class: ?DISPLAY_VGA If anyone could help I'd be very grateful... Please can you dumb it down a bit because this is my first time with Linux... Think in terms of the person the "For Dummies" booke were written for. Dustpuppy
This sounds like what my laptop does when it's running at million of colours rather than thousands - have you tried taking the number of colours down?
