I know, I know, but I'm cheap---dial up help

I just migrated from RedHat 9 to Mandrake 10 2 weeks ago, and my dial-up connection has been painfully slow (even for dial-up). I currently use kppp for the connection. Last night I wrote a script to make the connection hoping that somehow kppp was the culprit but still no luck. Has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks

I had a slow connection problem with the first kernel in Mandrake CE. The current kernel in OE (2.6.3-13mdk) does not seem to have a problem. I found it was the kernel that was the culprit. Perhaps you need to update kde?
