Guest mrrellim
LinNeighborhood worked fine in MDK 9.2 right after installing, no configuration needed. I could see win98 machine and access it's shares. Install MDK 10 can see win98 machine but can not connect to it. Any ideas?? Kinda related (networking issue) in 9.2 can automatically get ip from router, but in 10 can't get it to work so have to setup a static ip. Thanks MrRellim
SoulSe
There must be some small setting that you are missing with the manual setup. Most important: IPs must be related (ie. 192.168.0.X - the first three allocations must be the same) Netmask (usually 255.255.255.0 - must also be the same on all machines). Make sure that SAMBA is set to run on the same network name as the windows machines (this shouldn't be causing your problem though, just good practise). When you say connect - do you mean the program won't mount on them? Or won't it list shares at all?
ac_dispatcher
Try smb4k. It works better the LinNeighborhood for me.
