Techiboy88
Hi, I downloaded linux mandrake emove i586.ISO and burned it to CD. However during installation this error massage showed up "Kernel panic: No init found Try passing init=option to kernel". I have have almost no idea what this means. If someone does know I would be grateful for the help Thanks
Ixthusdan
Greetings! Did you verify the integrity of the iso with the md5sum? Also, it could be a bad burn. If the iso is good, then try another burn with name brand media, or perhaps a slower speed. With move, the init comes with the load, so the data would be at fault, my guess. brancalessio
If you still experience problems, try this way. When the CD starts and you see the initial splash, press ESC. Then type linux init 5 to have a graphical system, linux init 3 to have a text-only system. Are you running Mandrake Move on a laptop? One of my friends had a problem of kernel panic with a (new) laptop and Mandrake (9.2). Probably the right thing to do is the following. When the CD starts and you see the initial splash, press ESC. Then type linux noapic At the worst linux init 5 noapic or linux noapic init 3 Let we know!
