Dustpuppy
I'm trying to install LinEAK on 9.2 using KDE and am running at Konsole ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc as per instructions. It doesn't work because of what must be the bizarrest error I've ever got: configure: error: You must have X installed Does anyone know what's going on? bvc
here's the old version for 9.1 http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/mandrake/9.1...-1mdk.i586.html 9.2? Run urpmf xosd-config and install the pkg it's in.
Dustpuppy
Thanks for the help, I've installed those and they're working fine but it still can't see X! The final lines are now: checking for extra libs... no checking for getopt.h... yes checking if XOSD is going to be used... checking for xosd-config... /usr//bin/xosd-config yes checking for main in -lxosd... yes checking for X... no configure: error: You must have X installed Is there any way it's looking for X in the wrong place or something? bvc
do you have the devel pkgs for XFree86 installed? rpm -qa | grep XFree86
Dustpuppy
I got: XFree86-75dpi-fonts-4.3-24.4.92mdk XFree86-xfs-4.3-24.4.92mdk XFree86-4.3-24.4.92mdk XFree86-server-4.3-24.4.92mdk so I guess not! What are the packages called that I need?
bvc
try urpmi XFree86-devel

bvc
You're welcome!!! errors while compiling are almost always simple missing 'devel' pkgs. urpmf google and rpmfind.net are the tools to to solve the prob...and of course this board thereafter ;)
