Recommended Posts

:D

hello all , i want ti use Klaptop but i don't found it !! i think that it is in kdeutils which is installed in the default instalation , but when i go to the system , configuration, Kde , power config , there is not klaptop ! juste a very simple gui "control power indicator " . Before mandrake i used feora , and Klaptop was a very beautiful interface of batery control , so i don't understand .

I want to know if anybody have the same probleme or if i am a very bad "linuxien" who don't understand something !!

Where can i find it ???

thank to your answers....

trying to run klaptop in the console returns command not found.

ls /usr/bin | grep klap

returns:

klaptop_acpi_helper*

klaptop_check*

neither of these programs open the system tray and klaptop_check seems like it is going to run a kde application but then errors and closes.

[david@st11_045 david]$ klaptop_check

kdecore (KIconLoader): WARNING: Icon directory /home/david/.kde/share/icons/crystal/ group not valid.

running under root returns:

[root@st11_045 david]# klaptop_check

QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used

QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used

QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used

QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used

kbuildsycoca running...

kded: WARNING: KGenericFactory: instance requested but no instance name passed to the constructor!

kded: WARNING: KGenericFactory: instance requested but no instance name passed to the constructor!

so im still at a loss.

I'm having this exact same problem here. I've installed kdeutils-common-3.2-18.1.100mdk. Any attempt to run this program on my new Dell Inspiron 1150 simply fails with no output when logged in as a user and with the exact same set of messages when "su -"-ed to root.
