how do I make them all use kprinter?

like the title says, I'm using kde and while 'most' apps detect that I'm using kde and launch kprinter, some use their own. The one I am most concerned with is the Gimp as there is not gimp-print filter for my printer but it works flawlessly with everything else.

So, how do I make the Gimp use kprinter?

short answer you can't. long answer, hacking.

gtk apps don't usually interoperate with KDE like that but there are currently projects underway to make sodopi, gimp and mozilla interoperate with KDE.

I am not sure if you need gimp-print support for this; but I suppose not ...

I'm using gimp 1.2. When I click on "print ...", I get the print-dialog.

In it there is a button "configure printer (or something ..I translated it: above media-size)". There you have a dialog where you can type the command to use for printing ..I suppose. Check the commandline-syntax for kprinter ...and chaneg the command to the krpinter-command.

On the right of it you have a buuton "new printer" ..so you can make a custom printer for this if you want.

Can't guarantee it will work, but maybe it does ...
