DragonMage
What are the comments regarding the new kernel, does it solve the supermount problem? Any additional quirks? Improvement over the regular 9.0 kernel?
Guest anon
Well, they thought supermount was OK in 2.4.16 and for some people including me, it was/is . The problem is on some peoples box it won't work at all. They have made some improvements with supermount with the 2.4.20 It may work for you, it may not. Remember its a cooker release, and the kernel.org kernel 2.4.20 is still on RC2 It will be a few weeks i suspect before they call it stable and mdk adopt it, after adding their own patches to it. Is it faster ? well its got a mini low latency patch in it , though i have not noticed any huge improvement in speed, that will come with the kernel 2.5 which i also have installed ( beta 2.5.4) its a lot faster, but as you would suspect, lots of bugs and faults, but when that is released as stable it will make front page news. Get ready to buy the " go faster red stripes " to stick on your box.
