Please Help: SATA hard drive and install

Well this appears to me to be a common theme with most linux distros but here it goes.

I have a new computer that I built with a tyan tiger k8w board and dual opteron 242 processors. I also got with this board a western digital 250 Gb harddrive since this motherboard has an onboard serial ata controller, a silicon image 3114 to be exact.

The problem is that silicon image has released some drivers for other distros but not mandrake yet. I want to install the amd 64 version of mandrake to get full use of the 64 bit processors but can't find anything to get this hard drive to be recognized.

The installer says no hard disks exist naturally.

If anyone could help me with what to do or knows of a driver that will work I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

If anyone has any information for this question, I am suffering with the problem as well. I have an AMD 64 system with a Chaintech Zenith ZNF3-150 motherboard. It has an onboard SATA RAID SiI 3114, which works well with Windows XP, but the Mandrake AMD 64 9.2 does not see *any* hard drives. After spedning $100 on this OS (and later finding out that it comes without support, or even a box for that matter), I am getting rather frustrated. I found some modules for other distros and tried inserting them w/ expert setup, but they fail. Anyone able to get these drives to work? Thanks.
