SoulSe
I have won a competition for the first time in my life! I won an AOpen DV3000 digital camera! yay! Ok, so if I plug it into a Mandrake machine, the camera icon pops up on my Gnome desktop, which is super neat, but I want to get Gentoo to do the same thing. If I plug in the camera, /dev/sda1 shows up and I can mount it, but how do I do the auto-icon thingy? It's a nice trick ;) Also, if I unplug the camera and then plug it back in, sda1 does not show up again until I reboot? Winning competitions is rad
chris:b
Congrats, SoulSe - and have fun with your camera. In MDK it is done by 'hotplug' and 'dynamic' (dynamic-0.10-1mdk) - rpm's are there. Take a look at: /etc/hotplug and /etc/dynamic - a lot of scripts. Can't help with Gentoo.
