subir
I have to add "mathabx.dcl" package to my existing setup of latex. It would be of great help to me if any one can guide me how to add this package.
coverup
mathabx.dcl? Strange extension... Anyway, adding packages to latex is easy. Login as root, then go to the latex directory, usually it is /usr/share/texmf. Copy the files according to their functionality, i.e., if it's a latex package then a logical choice for it is /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/packagename (create the directory packagename first, then copy files to that dir). After you've done with placing files, go back to /usr/share/texmf. You'll find the file ls-R in it. Make a backup copy of it (just in case), then run # ls -R > ls-R This will create the new ls-R file. If you now open it with a text editor, you should be able to see the new package files included in it. That's all you need to do, the package is available right away. Qchem
I'd run texhash as opposed to the ls -R step, texhash does this for you and is the way I find works best (not to say the other way doesn't work).
