Sunwatcher Posted July 17, 2010 Report Share Posted July 17, 2010 I have an HP NC6400 laptop, and I'm running Mandriva 2010. Currently, I have no battery and am using the adapter constantly. Whenever the machine is on, the fan keeps spinning up, then slows, then stops, over and over again in a cycle of about 15 seconds. As far as I can tell, the cpu is not overheating, but I am not certain of this. I have a load sensor going and it puts each core of the cpu at about 4% to 5% when nothing is happening.
