saurya_s
Hi folks How can I configure my computer to do the updates for me. On mandrake, I guess one has to do urpmi kind of thing. I also thought that one can make a crontab file for that. Can anybody tell me how to do that as I have very vague idea about this? as you would have guessed!! WilliamS
Go here: http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php and do what it says.
WilliamS
I'm a little more awake now... Running as a cron job might be dangerous, see the recent posts about a security update for XFree86.
Steve Scrimpshire
If you are running 9.2, that XFree problem will not apply. Also, I don't think it causes the problem if you use urpmi to update rather than MandrakeUpdate. You can create a script called update.cron and place it in /etc/cron.weekly and it should look like this: #!/bin/bash urpmi.update -a urpmi --auto --auto-select
