gobama
Hi everyone. This is driving me crazy. I am running Mandrake 9.2 and my onboard ethernet device will not work. However, I know what the problem is. My kernel sources are not correct. So I downloaded the correct one, but I had to save it to my D: drive which is NTFS because I cannot connect to the internet through Mandrake. Now I can successfully mount my D: drive, but when I try and enter the directory the kernel source is in, it keeps telling me that there is no such directory. What can I do to access this dir because I need the file in there bad. Thanks for any help you can give. I'm just about ready to go to Mandrake 9.1 because I read somewhere that it's easier to get the nforce2 MCP Networking Adapter working. tyme
is the file in a directory which contains spaces? if so, you need to put a \ before each space, such as: My Documents would be My\ Documents (if you're doing it from the command line)
fuzzylizard
Hint: If you are going to be dual booting, always create an FAT32 partition for sharing user data between the two OS's. This will save much grief when it comes to solving problems and sharing documents.
gobama
Yes, it is in a dir that has spaces. So I will need 3 "\" of these. Thanx so much. I will try this. :D
gobama
I finally had to reboot to XP and change the dir to "LINUX." Then I was able to access the file, update the kernel source and finally install the NVIDIA nforce drivers. Everything worked! I thank you very much for your help :D
