klemm
Hi To make my mom stay in Linux I have to make the GRAMPS in our language. She asked me already to get her a box with windows because then she would use another program instead of Gramps, that exists in our language (estonian). Now what are the points to go through to make a translation ( I know ine step - translate). I have the .po file and its partly translated already, But when I finish with that How can I get the translation active on my installation ? What else is needed after a tranlsated .po file? Thanks Kristjan
fuzzylizard
Best thing to do is to contact the developers of the software in question and ask them how they handle translations. They are the people who will know how that particular app deals with internationalization, and they would also probably greatly appreciated the new translation. OK I just thought that there is a comon way (and easy) tho handle the localization like translating the file, converting the file to some format and and put it into some directory... Weel OK I dig into it more... maybe even read some manuals. :) I planned to contact the dev team anywhay so better to start with that.
