can someone give me a partition program for mandrake or other distros?

i have like 6 gigs free that isnt even used by either Xp or mandrake

its just free, nothing is on it

i messed up my partitions while installing mandrake

i created one too many free space

i tried to use partition magic but somethings wrong

i cant even start the damn thing

can someone suggest some programs?

i installed the newest version of this text editor

but i m not able to open it

i tried compiling it myself and also downloading the rpm

but both wont let me open it

after installation, i went to run and typed in vim and nothing appeared

then i went into console and also typed in vim and it brings up this screen in console but i am not able to type any commands on it

does anyone no what is the problem?

if you guys need a screen of this, i can provide it

i m in mcc where do i go to find the cdrom?

maybe the path name for the cds are wrong?

i pop the cd that it wants and pressed ok

but it doesnt work

i still says i have to insert that cd

i tried to check the mount by going to /mnt/cdrom and see if there was anything inside there

there was nutin inside the folder

i thought maybe it was the cd then so i tried another cd which is a music cd

but that also was not detected

so i thought maybe the mount is bad?

so i tried to mount it myself by doing a mount -t auto /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

this time i checked that the data is indeed in the folder /mnt/cdrom

but it still asks me for the cd when i click ok

does anyone no what is wrong?

What is the difference between the two versions of mandrake distro?

each time install something, it askes me for one of the mandrake installation cds

is there a way that i dont have to use the cds everytime i want to install some software?

when i try to install aim,

mandrake asks for the 4th cd

this is the message

"Please insert the medium named "Installation CD 4 (x86) " on device [/dev/hdc] "

can anyone help?

i thought there were only 3 cds in the installation?
