this is cuased by mandriva updates the automatic updates adds latest kenrel source kernel-source-2.6-2.6.12-15mdk
but not the latest kernel
you have to install that manually with
urpmi kernel-2.6.12.15mdk-1-1mdk
-
[tobbe@localhost ~]$ rpm -q --whatprovides perl\(kdocParseDoc\)
kdoc-3.0.0-1mdk

New xorg-x11-6.9.0 -36 with Mesa-6.5.0,drm-2.0 and openchrome from 20060211 added.

I have checked the repo and as far as i can see is all the rpm sthat your errors shoes as missing available.
Maybe you should try to upgrade from the mirror instead it has alot better bandwidth.
Delete the mde repo and add it again from this link.

Also, I have a Nvidia video card and have installed the "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8174-pkg1.run" drivers from Nvidia. Could that have caused my /usr/include/GL directory to look as it does?
Yes that could very likely be the cause, one should not mix compiled things with rpms, it will most likely break things.
I would recomend using the plf nvidia rpms instead.

I've xorg-x11-6.9.1.cvs the original from 2006 powerpack youre's xorg-x11-6.9.0-35 that a lower version. How can i install it so i can use my openchrome driver instead of the vesa driver.
Is xorg-x11-6.9.0-35.mdk2006.0.mde.i586.rpm the right one, if not which one must i have.
The original from 2006 is xorg-x11-6.9-1.cvs the latest 2006 update is xorg-x11-6.9.0-5 and mde version is xorg-x11-6.9.0-35
so there is no problem updating sine both the original and the latest official 2006 update is the lower version.

In January I upgraded my Mandriva 2006.0 with the KDE 3.5 rpms. Yesterday and today I've been trying to upgrade to KDE 3.5.1 using urpmi --auto-select. However, when urpmi attempts to install "libxorg-x11-devel-6.9.0-35.mdk2006.0.mde.i586.rpm" I get the following error:
adding package libxorg-x11-devel-6.9.0-35.mdk2006.0.mde.i586 (id=13075, eid=13075, update=1, file=/var/cache/urpmi/rpms/libxorg-x11-devel-6.9.0-35.mdk2006.0.mde.i586.rpm)
Preparing... #############################################
1/1: libxorg-x11-devel #############################################
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/include/GL: cpio: rename failed - Is a directory
And several more kde packages are not installed because of this.
Any suggestions?
You dont tell what your previous xorg version is but.
I stiil know what the problem is, i think.
There was a buggy cooker xorg that actually created the /usr/include/GL dir and added it in the rpm
but /usr/include/Gl should only be a softlink
# ls -al /usr/include/G*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 feb 5 21:33 /usr/include/GL -> ../X11R6/include/GL/
so if you have such a version of xorg installed that has this bug
is the easiest way to solve the upgrade to delete tha faulty dir and then upgrade.
type this line as root
WARNING!! be very careful when doing this
# rm -r /usr/include/GL
then upgrade again as usual

This xorg is built with matroxhal
%if %{havematroxhal}
Source201: ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive/linu....3.0-src.tar.gz
Source2010: ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive/linu...adriver_4_3.txt
so the answer should be yes, but i have not been able to test this myself since i do not have a matrox card.

i just tested my latest xorg on a radeon 9600 pro
the r300 dri works
but the commersial ati cannot be installed it will conflict the ati GL will
be used instead of mesa GL.
and another strange thing when all is ok with r300 glxinfo shows a very low value
but it does work anyway with ok performance, so i dont thing glxinfo is accurate with r300.
i have also tested the r200 driver on a radeon 9200 it works ok glxinfo shows around 1400 FPS when i test on a old PIII 600.
