I havn't tried it yet (as it not my kind of game :P), but I read you need to download the songs into stepmania. Check if there's hidden .stepmania folder or you might check the installation path of syepmania and move the song there.

Try with:
locate stepmania whereis stepmania
To see where it is.

Well, my info is based on how long time went for the previous releases of linux clients for UT series. So if they keep the trend, it should be mid. december.
-
Good to see Creative Labs X-Fi on the list. Even though Creative is developing a driver for it.
-
We'll properly see the linux client ready around middle of December.

I can recommend if you try Dosbox gaming Launcher: http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/blankendaalr/dbgl/
There you can give every game a specific setup with ease.

...or not.
For me the installer gets as far as where it says "Media change." Then it says "Please insert the 'Enemy Territory: Quake Wars game disc.'" The disc is in, but when I select OK and hit Enter absolutely nothing happens. I have tried it both with the disc mounted and with it unmounted.
Properly a safty device that make sure you don't waste your life :P
A bug report is in order I guess. You could try putting the CDs down on the HDD and try that way.

Just installed on a second partition on my Macbook Pro (wiped out XP on that partition) and so far from the stuff I've played with its running like a champ. Now with Mac OSX and Linux I am complete again. :D
Congratz! B)
Maybe there is an easier way, but this simply worked perfectly for me.If that methode works then it's cool. I think it's easier way if you use Ubuntu (gnome), I'm not sure with XFCE.

Can't wait to try it! Burned a DVD and now waiting for my new computer (which is sadly delayed due to huge demanding at Dell).
-
Sorry about that :D

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is now out for linux. If you the owner of the game, grab the linux client here

Despite the popularity of Ubuntu and their success making it into the big headlines in the media, I still prefer Mandriva. I've been using Mandrake and Mandriva primarily since '99. Occasionally I tried other distros to see if I was missing something. I didn't miss anything. Mandriva 2008.0 is the most comlete distro around. It is fun to have dirty hands, but if you need something productive Mandriva is THE distro.
This isn't a distro versus distro thread. It's news headlines. Please keep such stuff away.
Does it also work with my Xubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) installed in VirtualBox?I'm not sure. But it should be available through synaptic.

Yep, follow neddie's link, ianw1974.

I still hope that the next release will be "horny hare". :D
I doubtly think it would comes to that
Yes that is a bit of a pain, but,No need for re-installation, just make a distro upgrade. Most linux distro (if not all) can do that.

Some more;
Unfortunately, I have no influence with the leadership presently at Linspire. That's one of the main reason I'm making the change. I believe I actually can have a positive impact via the Ubuntu community. In the end, Michael Robertson overrode some of the most important things I wanted to do when I was CEO at Linspire, which is mainly why I left. If he didn't listen to me when I was CEO, I doubt he'll listen to me now. Ubuntu is a genuine community, and I believe good ideas will find their way into the system. -
Then it's properly not for you then. As it comes with bulletproof X and Graphical configuration tool for X.
But you could go for server install and build up from there ;)
-
Yep, it's here now.

Maybe he left the sinking ship? Linspire6 seems to be a dead horse, according to some reviews.
Could be;
Some of my good friends and quality employees have also left Linspire and joined Canonical, and I get a sense from them of the excitement, commitment and expectations the Ubuntu team has to really make open source desktop Linux a reality. This is truly where it is at!---------------
It makes no sense to me. He was the one who made that deal, wasn't he? I've read the topic on the Linspire forum and 8 pages of the topic on the Ubuntu forum. No one wrote anything like it.Noone really knows who/what/why, so it is speculation. But he actually resigned briefly after the Microsoft deal.

Kervin Carmony, CEO for Linspire resigned due to Linspires recent move regarding Microsoft.
A couple of month later he shows up in ubuntuforums.org: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=577927

yeah forgot to mention it above. But it is something. Works good, though it need some optimization. I also got report from other linux gamers that ATI x1600 doesn't work (yet) with ETQW.

As far as I know AA is not linux supported anymore. I don't know how many which actually running the old version, which can be a problem if you want to play against others.

It's available, I just announced it on my site; http://gaming.gwos.org/doku.php (including download link etc).
