  2. thanks i found that even though the sndconfig tells me via ac97 its not supported it works, i just have to increase the volume in the mixer !
  3. I just install mandrake 9.1 i found that when i log in as a root the desktop is empty (no icons) even the mouse right or left click doesn't work. I installed 3 times and i allways have the same problem
  4. i just install mandrake 9.1 (a fresh install) but now i have no sound my sound card is Via AC'97. in mandrake 9.0 i had no problem with the sound, but now when a try sndconfig it tells me that my sound card its no supported. can any help me?
  5. i have the latest rpms from texstar. i solve my problem (thanks to texstar who told me how) i did: update-menus -v i saw the problem came from qtella icons which didnt let me update my icons i uninstalled qtella and reinstall it and went just fine thanks :D
  6. i have ml9 with kde31 texstar, my problem is that the menus wont update when i install anything. i did try to update them with menudrake but it wont work. the strange thing is that in menudrake i can see all the programas i installed, but no in the kde menus. i also tried update-menus from bash but it doesnt work either. if anyone has a solution let me know
  7. Since i install kde3.1 kbear wont work, this is what i get: ERROR: KUniqueApplication: DCOP communication error! does this just happens to me, or is it kbear problem?

Ok Here we go again! i did format my hd and installed ml9, updated my kernel (2.4.19-24), my nvidia drivers (4191, i built it the rpm from source) and i also did all the modifications i found in the forum (XFree86-4) and bla bla bla... But eveything is the same KDE3.1 frezes all the time,most of the times when i open a terminal. im tired and frustrated at same time, not for the time spended but for the failure! i guess the only solution is... to wait for ml9.1 (which i think will be out at the end of march) :?: thanks anyway.

  10. i've updated my kernel, but when i reboot i get "unknown bridge" error what does it mean?

  12. well, i had the same prob, i did update and i had to update some other paqs (like locales) too,but i didn't have many problems with the rest of my programs

  15. Hi, Ndeb most of the times kde freezes when i'm in /home and i open a terminal
  16. i'm using tex's kde3.1 (kdebase3.1-6) but it still freezes all the time. i've been using mandrake for almost 2 years, but the problems with kde3.1 got me really tired. i did reinstall mandrake9 3 times (from kde3.1 rc3 to rc6) 'cuz i thought it was better that way. my KDE3.1 FREEZES & CRASHES ALL THE TIME what can i do? go back to rc6? (which i think it's the best) :x :x :x Thanks
  17. I fixed it myself, all i did was install the locales-en "urpmi locales-en" and the problem was gone. anyways, Linux Rocks!

    Perl problem

I've downloaded the rpms of kde3.1 from texstar, and when i try to install them it tells me: kdelibs == 3.1-3tex its necesary for kdelibs-devel-3.1-3tex kdelibs == 3.1-3tex its necesary for kdelibs-static-devel-3.1-3tex but i have kde3.1-3 libs in my kde3.1 directory :( {when i did install kde3.1 rc6 i didn'n have any problem} can anybody help me?
