Its was set for KDE

I installed Mandrake 9.1 on my PC.After 3rd ,I thougth all went well. When I rebooted, my soreen loaded with no icons or tool bar.The watch sits there.blinks alot. But thats it.Dont know what to do?How do I solve the problem, Really not wanting to go back to windows,please help!
