I found a simple fix for the problem. I installed Mandrake 10.

I'm new to Linux and I have just installed Mandrake 9.2 on my laptop. I'm having the same problem where linux hangs at loading pcmcia. I'm certain I can fix the problem but when I choose verbose and interactive mode the keyboard stops working. I tried plugging a keyboard into the ps/2 port and had the same thing happen. Any ideas about what is happening? Thanks
