  1. Hi all, I installed Mandrake Linux on my slave hard drive and it installed a bootloader on my master drive. I needed to hook up another hard drive to drag files from it onto my master drive. However, when I disconnected the slave that Linux was on, the bootloader didn't like it. I've tried to boot both with a different slave and with no slave drive, but the bootloader doesn't like it. So, is there a way I can safely remove the bootloader for now to do this? Or, is there some way I can enable it so that it allows me to see other slaves if the Linux slave is disconnected? I'm using Windows XP Pro, by the way. Thank you! Mitch
  2. Hi pmpatrick, Thank you for your swift reply. It allowed me to get into the menu, but I haven't been able to look at my video card yet to set it. Ah, the joys of being a college student. Thanks! Mitch
  3. Hi all, I'm totally new to the Linux world. I installed Mandrake as a dual-boot on my Windows XP system. The installation went fine, but I know I made an error when choosing a video card. When Linux starts, it goes to command line. My friend said that startx is usually the command to start the GUI, but it didn't work because it doesn't know what video configuration I have. How do I configure the video for it? I'm running Mandrake 9.2 Thanks! Mitch
