Hi -- I am trying to load Mandrake 9.2 on my HP d220, P4, 2.66 GHz, 1 GB SDRAM, 40 GB HD. I have installed Mandrake on other (older & slower) machines without any problems, but when I try with this one, I can't get past the initial boot screen where it gives you the option to press F1 or Enter. I tried all of the related suggestions I could find, such as booting with different flags turned on (i.e. text acpi=off noapic vga=normal), but nothing seems to work -- it ends up hanging the keyboard after about a page and a half of messages. The only message that I can identify as being a definable problem is the following: kernel BUG at slab.c=815! invalid operand:0000 If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate them. Thanks, -Janet
