well i have figured out all the questions i had before, but now i need help with IRC...i am trying to use XSirc, but i can not Auto Auth, and XChat i can not connect to irc.gamesurge.net does anyone know any IRC programs that are good, kind of like mIRC for linux?

yes, i have been able to install ksirc and everything, but i was wondering if there was a auto auth feature like mIRC? i know i can do /authserv AUTH name password everytime, but that just gets gay.. please help is there a way to auto auth when using Ksirc?

ok, i guess i need help with the commands and the setup of wine to run any "windows" application. i want to use "Steam" to run halflife games, and irc, and so on. how can i set it up wine to make it run kind of like windows, that lets me run .exes, and .zips, and .rar and from cds..

umm once i edit my xfreeconfig file how do i get out of the file? and save changes?

Ok last question i swear. i am trying to install the nvidia drivers, but i seem that i can't. i have th latest drivers, and i run init 3, login into root, go to the dir with NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run and so sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run it says i accept, then yes, but it seems that thereis no kernel or something like that. Is there a driver out there for Nvidia cards, that works with linux 10? cause i have the newest one and i get stuck after i accept, and it says the kernal tree is missing or something? not really sure. please help

as u can tell from the topic, i have no idea which it is, but i do know that it lets u dl the part of the linux file which is different from your current version, and saves you alot of bandwidht*in some cases.* i was wondering if someone can post or show me a very easy guide to know how to use rsync? nsync? so i can save bandwidth, and alot of hassle.

yes i am a newbie with liunx, but i was wondering if someone could post a very easy guide on how to run windows programs with wine. i have asked my brother who knows a lot about linux and windows, and he has no idea how to use it. Please help

well, sorry once i again, i dled the .rpm from rpmfind.net and i installed it and it seemed to work since mozilla found that flash was now there. i guess i should have checked first. Sorry once again, and thanks for the quick replies. this is my favorite newbie site :-) P.S. can anyone explain to me how to use nsync? and wine? cause i want to run windows preograms on linux, and i want to dl the changed .iso, not the full thing again. Please help, in the simplest way*i am newbie*

yes i figured that out, but i have another problem now...i want to install flash...and it is int he directory, but mozilla does not detect it. i have looked for libstdc++ the thing reguired for flash...but i can not install it, since it is not there to be installed..and it is not currently installed. is there a place i can dl it from? please help

Yes i am kind of new to Linux, but i can run it and do what readmes say to do, but i have a question. I recently installed Mandrake Linux 10 Community and i installed Mozilla 1.6, Moziilla IRC and Mail. I need to install flashplayer to the mozilla directory, but i can not seem to find it, since the find files windows freezes when i try. I know where the mozilla file is, but i need the the directory inorder to but the java and flash plugin into it. Please help me, since a lot of sites reguire flash nowadays, and i can not seem to find the mozilla directory inwhich the plugins folder is so i can install flash to that directory. Thanks

well umm, u have to go to run command, then do menudrake...and then go make all applications viewable

oh and umm, i have no terminal, there is no menudrake or whatever on ym computer, i can not open home, everything is ****ed could it be bad isos? even though i got it off of mandrake ftp?

well in the final version will linux 10 be like 9.2 as in menu wise? cause i think it is easier for ppl like me
