    Anyone play this or heard of it, I will try when I get home tonight or tomorrw!

    headbang

    It is a World War 2 MOD for UT2003, pretty nice so far, I have made a linux installer for it, just go to;

    http://mandrake101.no-ip.org/

    Navtive Gaming > Installing Native Linux Games, and you will find it in the UT 2003 section :)

    Ah, you da man!

    Didn't have a chance to play it or install it last night, maybe to night and I will try your installer.

    Thx.

    I won't lie to you either, my speeds are not the best, I am only on cable. So good luck :)

  2. >The problem might be of a lack of a single player campaign/story;

    More of an online game then??  Maybe I won't bother downloading it then....  :angry:

    I almost kinda wished I didn't pay for it now :( I am having a ton of problems either with the download or just getting the damn things installed and running now. I had no problems with the demo, but now...I am not even getting any help of suggestions in the support forums, and it seems like everyone else is having a lot of linux related issues with the game as well. Plus the updater just complains and craps out now hehehehehe I am still just trying to get a complete download of the .gz file for linux so that I can extract it and see what is going on, but it keeps corrupting before I can get it all. I have the ISO image on CD which did install and was working (sort of) but now it just errors out on the updates.

  3. I run the game in 800x600 in mid level settings and get about 35-40 fps most of the time. I installed the game under the windows partition of this machine for my brother and do notice it gets a slight fps boost. A driver issue perhaps? Anyways I'm running it on:

    1.4ghz Athlon

    256mb Ram

    GeForce2 MX400 64mb

    2mb/s downstream cable

    Now that I have finally found the actual support forums, I have posted my problems there with the updating and the retail game not running. Will see what happens. Thanks for the info :)

  4. Hey you guys should check this game out for sure. I downloaded the demo after zero0w posted about it a few weeks ago and fell in love with it.I bought the retail later and its the best PC game I've played in a LONG time. I haven't had this much fun since when quake 1 came out. It's an RTSS which stands for real time strategy shooter which basically means its like an rts with human controled units. Each team gets a commander who plays rtts style and everyone else plays as a unit fps style.....hard to explain but trust me it's awesome. Plus they have GREAT linux support (win32/linux install on the same cd....not hidden away like Ut2k3, really helpfull devs with a forum just for linux users, and get this...linux support listed on the box! No way!)

    How are the graphics ? I too fell in love with this game, got the retail, and I don't really play these types of games. This one is a great one though. I installed it, and when I try to run the game, it just gives me heartaches graphically. Either my keyboard is not working or the mouse is not working, sometimes the game will not even start. What Resolution you running the game in ?

  5. Savage Demo for Linux is released:

    EDIT:

    Try updating to latest nVidia Linux driver if you use a nVidia display card. I tried driver 1.0-4365 but the game crashed when I try to sprawn, updated to driver 1.0-4496 and the problem went away.

    I would advise against paying online and downloading the ISO. My download crapped out on me and now I have to wait to see how I am going to get the image that I just paid 40 bucks for. I did email support regarding the crapped out download, but I just have to wait now. Guess this is what I get for being too impatient :)

    FOLLOWUP ON SUPPORT: Well after several emails back and forth, to figure out where I could actually re-download the ISO online, I finally got it downloaded and burned. The support was excellent and fast in response to my initial email. Now I am going to install and check the game out:)

  7. Once you have you have both server and client software installed, you have to generate you key pairs for every user you wish to have ssh available for.

    $user> ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 2048

    The -b switch tells SSH how strong the encryption will be.

    Then check your MCC to ensure that the SSHD services are turned on. Something else you may want to setup is in the /etc/ssh/sshd_conf. Make sure you disable direct logins as root. This way users can only connect as themselves and have to change to ROOT after. This is just a good security practice. I am pretty sure it is in the sshd_conf file, it may be the ssh_conf file.

  8. MOHAA runs and it starts, right but on the menu if i click on anything it freezes! i know this is only beta 1 and ders still problems but has ne one got it to work and if so how well?

    It installed great, and it's playing fine for me on my Dualie/G4. I have not experienced a freeze up yet.

  9. I installed it and had a play, very nice it is much more realistic shooting than 2.6a (can't spray and pray) 8)

    And the machine gun is very nice.

    Just a shame there are not many 3.0 servers up at the moment.

    Oh instead of the files going into q3ut2 they now go in q3ut3 so you can have 2.6a and 3.0 side by side.

    sweet

  10. Hi,

    I am pretty new to this...basically I just found out that I could SSH into my own linux box with any account login and password and once I am in, I can go anywhere I want, just like I am acutally using the copmuter physically.

    However, I would like to limit the access. The main reason is that I created some account for my friends so they can make some web pages (I also run Apache). They could FTP or SSH into my machine. I figured out how to limit their access in FTP. But in SSH, they could go anywhere they want. I want them to only be able to access their respective home directory. How do I do that???

    Thank you.[/i]

    One thing you can do to force them to stick to the user accounts and keep them from logging in as ROOT, is to edit this line in your /etc/ssh/sshd_config file;

    PermitRootLogin no (Change this from yes to no or remove the # in front if it is commented out)

    Cheers

  11. Hey i just got my order from gogamer.com of serious sam  and i went to install it and the installer will not work with my cd http://www.gogamer.com/cgi-bin/GoGamer.sto...uct/View/001SER

    i already have the game files via a wine install but i cant find the serious sam client files in a .tar.gz is there a way to get the installer to just install the client and skip copying the game data files? [/url]

    also i cant find the beta in a .tar.gz anywhere.

    You have to install the beta 1 installer first, then use the loki update from there. You can download the beta 1 installer from here. It works great with SS:TFE CD. It should install right off the CD with no problems.
