  1. I may be making myself look stupid here, but I'm having trouble with Legends.

Here's the story so far. Downloaded and installed without any problems. I had a hard time figuring out how to run it (I'm still getting used to working in terminals), but after a little work I got it started and it ran fine. The game seems pretty nice. Problem is, I can't get a server list. Nothing shows up. Have I done something wrong? For now, I'm just running around an empty map. Any help would be appreciated.

    P.S.

Referring to my comment about working in terminals - Could someone please explain how I can create some kind of launcher on my desktop, so that I don't always have to go through a big process to get the game going.

  2. I'm sure I made some kind of noob mistake here, but if someone has some advice, It would be appreciated.

I was trying to install a new printer but was having a difficult time. I logged out and rebooted into windows to check a couple of files. When I tried to log back into GNOME, I got this error:

Unable to read ICEAuthority File :/home/kevin/.ICEauthority

Not sure what I did. Can any one point me in the right direction?

  3. Is it normal for Mandrake to use over 220 meg of memory with no programs running. I'm new to Linux and only have 256 meg of mem installed in my computer. The listed system requirements and even sugested memory is much lower that what mine is using now.

Anybody have any idea what is going on?

If this is norm, then I guess I'll have to go get more memory.

I appreciate any help on this.

  4. Newbie question. I've recently installed Mandrake 9.2 and am having a little problem with my USB HD. Linux recognizes the drive at startup and mounts it, but occasionaly after restarting the comp., it will mount another copy under "removeable2" then "removeable3" and so on. if I try to unmount, nothing happens.

Any one have any helpfull tips. Also, is there a way to keep this from happening?

  5. Help. Does anyone know how I can reset my resolution. I am a Linux newbie and just installed Mandrake 9.2 on my computer. I messed up and changed the resolution to one that my monitor does not support. Now, when I start up Linux, I boot straight to a terminal (?).

I don't know what to do.

Also, I created a restore CD before the problem, but don't know how to use it from the terminal (?)

    Please Help
