is it as extreme as mine? i mean .. if i skip the scanimage -L step i get to see plustek:/dev/usb/scanner0 up in the title bar of xscanimage. but it refuses to scan .. i havent been able to scan yet i m in the set up process still :(

the mystery of the disappearing hp2200c usb scanjet by Mandrake 9.0 i586 everytime the pc is booted scanimage -L correctly reports the hp2200c usb flatbed scanner. similarly, immediately after a reboot, xscanimage will have in its title plustek:/dev/usb/scanner0. all correct so far i believe as the plustek is also the driver for this particular hp. now the mystery begins, on a second scanimage -L as it says no scanner found or when the scan button on xscanimage is hit .. it will say device i/o error similarly, the preview/acquire image says the same thing. all detectives pls. respond ;) thx ps. aside from the humour i have been on this thing for 2/3 weeks now and just finally got scanimage -L to respond so i really want to take another step forward. thx again.

hi the link was great but unfortunately the only thing i learned from it was that i had to uninstall everything related to sane and recompile and install sane from scratch. that worked ..sort of .. on each boot.. i can do a scanimage -L and it tells me device `plustek:/dev/usb/scanner0' is a Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 2200c USB flatbed scanner ok ..then i do it again ... and it says .. no scanner found!!! ok .. reboot, xscanimage .. the title says plustek:/dev/usb/scanner0 i hit scan and it says i/0 error i m lost again

i have been here: http://www.mandrakeforum.com/article.php?thold=-1& mode=flat&order=1&sid=2034#29294 which tells me hp scanjet 2200c works with 8.2 http://www.gjaeger.de/scanner/plustek.html#downloads which tells me the driver is now incorporated into sane backend since 1.07 http://scanjet2200c.sourceforge.net/ which tells me to use the plustek http://www.mostang.com/sane/ which tells me that 1.09 is out oh and here too: http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/hard-detai...canner&F_ID=425 which tells me the scanjet2200c is supported by mandrake and they all tell me more or less the same thing ... the hp scanjet 2200c is supported by sane 1.07 and above and is part of the sane=backend package. (i even got source code and cooker rpms) and the result? xsane tells me: the hp scanjet 2200c is not supported by this version of mandrake. i have tried. i have been at this for a week now and i have failed .. miserably i might add and all i want know is to get it to work as it should. any and all help appreciated! thx

anybody got any idea where i might find the drivers for this usb scanner?

hi i got the modem portion of my conexant linmodem working (driver from http://mbsi.ca) but when i check for the fax it tells me i have a class 0 and the box says its a class 2. i want to get my fax working .. pls. help
