  1. Here's my specs: GA-K8N Pro Board AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2 40GB Maxtor HDs Now the problem: I get through the first screen, it shows all the text, then I accept the license agreement, blah, blah, blah.....and then a step shows up that all the guides and everything online seems to skip. It says "Which disk/scsi driver should I try?". The first time through I started picking ones that look familiar. My raid controller is hpt370/hpt372, so I tried hptraid....no luck. I also have two other on-board raid controllers that I had disabled at the time (after all, why would I need three). Rebooted, turned them all on, and went through the entire list of disk/scsi driver trying each one, but I either get that the driver was found, click to continue and it asked the first question again, or it said it was not found and asked if I wanted to input my own parameters for the device. Seeing as I don't know what I'm doing in that area I can't really do that successfully and end up back at the beginning question. Sorry if this seems silly or I didn't give the appropriate information, but if you ask I'll tell you what I can.
  2. Here's My Specs: AMD 64 3200+ 2 40GB Maxtors (I'd like raid 0, but will but in any config to get linux to run) DVD (So it's not the LG Problem) CDRW (Again shouldn't be affected by the firmware deal) If you need to know more just ask And the Recap: Got My HDD's nice and clean, popped in the MDK CD1, booted up, it gets to the first welcome screen (enter or f1). I hit enter. It continues on until it gets down to hda and then start to give me this: hda: lost interrupt hda: lost interrupt ... ... After a couple minutes it continues to a screen with just the "Welcome to Mandrake Linux (date and time)" at the top and the alt-function buttons on the button. Then I get a CDROM Not Found Error. I've tried it with both my DVD and my CDRW. I've also tried using the noapic, nolapic, acpi=off, nodma, and ide2=0x180, 0x386 commands with installation. Nothing. I've tried, probably incorrectly, to use the floppy boot. Made a floppy from rawwrite using hd.img, stuck it in, booted up, got the same error. I installed XP on the system, so I don't think it is the DVD or CDRW. I don't have the bandwidth for the download. I'm pretty much lost now. I've read the documentation 4x and browsed this board quite a bit. The error sounds like to me what would happen if I hadn't turned PNP OS off in my bios, which might be a possibility, as I scanned my bios numerous times and didn't see that. I've seen it on every other bios I've used, but then again I've never used a motherboard that supports the AMD 64. Help is greatly appreciated.
