  1. Hi,

     

    I had the same kind of problem with a USB ADSL modem (ECI) with Mandrake 9.1.

     

    I solved the problem by upgrading the motherboard BIOS (an AMI BIOS).

     

    My motherboard : MSI KT3 Ultra (KT333 Chipset).

    The BIOS that works : 5.70

     

    Now I can boot on Linux with all my USB stuff without hanging. I just have to set up my modem now :-)

  2. Hi,

     

    My ADSL USB ECI (GlobeSpan) modem freeze Mandrake 9.1 while booting (after checking modules dependencies.

    If I plug it only in a KDE session, the session freeze.

     

    Note : this modem works well on Linux Knoppix 3.1 (Debian Woody).

     

    It looks like a problem with USB detection.

     

    My motherboard is an MSI KT3.

     

    Any idear ?
